BI Foresight Briefings: how will AI impact deep-tech innovation? Opportunities. Risks. Rewards
Welcome to BI Foresight Briefings, a short series of in-depth articles on the role of AI in robotics, future telecoms networks, quantum technologies, and advanced materials

We have been covering our core innovation technologies, quantum, robotics, future telecoms and advanced materials, for two years now. (Happy birthday to us!) And in that time, AI has burst onto the global scene. How AI develops and influences innovation work is one of today’s key questions.
Who better to answer those questions than the experts themselves.
The aim of our editorial series of briefings is to do just that. We decided to look at the influence of AI in our core sectors from multiple perspectives. Academics, venture capitalists and angel investors, startups, analysts, industry bodies and corporations have all contributed.
But this is an ongoing story. AI will rapidly change innovation, hopefully always for the better. We need to watch it closely and listen to those working with AI to try and solve innovation problems or invent new solutions.
While it is still early, patterns are beginning to emerge. This editorial series maps that progress, through expert opinion, supported by data, interviews, and analysis, to show where value is emerging and what continues to hold deployment back.
We hope you find them useful and an informative read.
